The St. Augustine Library Club meets every other Wednesday after school at 3:15 P.M. in the Library.
Mission:
To foster a love of reading incorporating community activities that enhance academic excellence and values that will prepare students for life-long learning and to function effectively in a global society in a Christian environment.
Activities:
The Library Club assists in St. Augustine’s Annual Jamaica Loteria booth, provides day care services during our Tasting Tea, organizes our Book Fairs, undertakes a toy and book drive for an LISD and/ or UISD elementary during Christmas, Knight of Fantasy, will assist First Aid Club with Animal Shelter and Interact Club with Turkey Drive, and this year will sponsor a Book Club partnering with the Language Arts department.
Members also volunteer to provide library upkeep—sorting magazines, shelving and reading library shelves, etc.
Library Club recognizes a Member of the Month for outstanding service to the Club.
Policies:
Library Club officers must attend all meetings. Library Club members are allowed to miss 2 meetings per semester in order to qualify for a Library certificate at the end of the year. All others must be excused absences.
Officer and Member Responsibilities—Officers and members must volunteer for at least 2 activities per semester to acquire service hours.
