Weekly Mass
Every Wednesday, Mass is celebrated by the school Chaplain, Very Reverend Father Anthony Mendoza, on a rotating basis. Confessions are held before Mass as well as on Fridays. This Mass is for students and faculty only. It is very special for students to gather as a class for Mass. We feel honored to have in the center of our campus the historical original chapel of the Ursuline Sisters.
Adoration
Adoration is held every Friday in our school chapel from 8 am - 12 pm.
The importance of Eucharistic Adoration is shown in the fact that the Church has a ritual that regulates it: the Rite of Eucharistic Exposition and Benediction. This is an extension of the adoration of the Blessed Sacrament which occurs in every Mass: "Behold the Lamb of God, behold him who takes away the sins of the world. Blessed are those called to the supper of the Lamb." Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament flows from the sacrifice of the Mass and serves to deepen our hunger for Communion with Christ and the rest of the Church. The Rite concludes with the ordained minister blessing the faithful with the Blessed Sacrament.

Sacramental Preparation
St. Augustine High School with the support of the Diocese of Laredo provides a 2-year preparation program for the sacrament of Confirmation. The students make their Confirmation as a class in the Sophomore Year at the San Agustin Cathedral with His Excellency, James A. Tamayo, First Bishop of the Diocese of Laredo.
Circle of Grace
The Catholic Church teaches that God has created each of us as unique and special. Genesis 1:27 tells us that we are created "male and female in God's image" and that God saw this as "very good." In that goodness, we are meant to respect ourselves and everyone else as persons created and loved by God.
Adults assist children and young people to recognize God's love by helping them to understand that each of us lives and moves in a Circle of Grace. You can imagine your own circle of grace by putting your arms above your head then circle down in front of your body including side to side. This circle, front to back, holds who you are in your body and through your senses. It holds your very essence in mind, heart, soul, and sexuality.
